DreamRave: The Sleep Chart

Updated

On this page

The DreamRave is the chart of the body asleep. Ra Uru Hu taught that the bodygraph changes when we go to sleep: in his words, "What happens to us when we go to sleep? We change." Four of the nine centers go offline, and what is left is a smaller design with its own channels, its own type and its own weak points. Jovian Archive places it in the system's Night Forces material.

The DreamRave is not dream interpretation. Jovian Archive is plain that it is "not about teaching us how to interpret our dreams for personal meaning", and it does not depend on whether you remember your dreams at all. It describes the conditioning you take in while you sleep.

Five centers, fifteen gates#

"The Head, Ajna, Ego and Solar Plexus centers are switched off when we sleep," Jovian Archive writes. That removes the Head, the Ajna, the Heart (Ego) and the Solar Plexus, and leaves the Throat, the G Center, the Spleen, the Sacral and the Root. Your DreamRave "appears as a 5-Centered Design, as opposed to 9-Centered", "with just 15 Gates instead of the usual 64".

The five centers that stay online in sleep. Head, Ajna, Heart and Solar Plexus switch off.

Jovian Archive names the three fields. Which gates belong to which is not in its free article; the grouping below is the one practitioners' DreamRave charts use, and the one this app uses. It puts five gates in each field, and each field holds two channels and one portal: a gate in an online center whose waking partner sits in a center that is offline in sleep, so it can never complete a channel in the DreamRave.

Field Gates Channels Portal
Light Field 62, 20, 57, 8, 1 1–8 Inspiration (G–Throat), 20–57 The Brainwave (Throat–Spleen) Gate 62, Throat
Demon Realm 19, 53, 42, 38, 28 28–38 Struggle (Spleen–Root), 42–53 Maturation (Sacral–Root) Gate 19, Root
Earth Plane 12, 27, 50, 5, 15 5–15 Rhythm (Sacral–G), 27–50 Preservation (Sacral–Spleen) Gate 12, Throat

Practitioners describe the Light Field as tied to the Personality, the Demon Realm to the Design and the body, and the Earth Plane to the collective: the thoughts and feelings of the other people around the sleeper. Jovian Archive gives one example of what a channel means at night: "Together gates 27-50 create the Channel of Preservation," a theme of reproduction in sleep. It also warns that dreams may carry "fearful, sometimes sexual themes".

How the sleep chart is calculated#

Jovian Archive says only that the DreamRave is "created from the same data that calculates your waking Human Design": your birth date, time and place. The method below is the one practitioners' DreamRave charts use, and the one this app uses. The Personality side is the same as in your waking chart, the planets at the moment of birth. Only the 15 dream gates count; an activation in any other gate drops out.

The Design side is where it differs. Your waking Design is cast at the moment the Sun stood 88° before its birth position, about 88 days before you were born (how a chart is calculated covers this). The DreamRave uses the Moon instead: its Design is the moment the Moon stood 88° behind its birth position, about six to seven days before birth.

That makes the birth time matter more than it does for the waking chart. The Moon moves into a new gate about every ten hours, and with only 15 gates and six channels, one gate more or less can make or break a channel and change your sleeping type. An approximate time can give a sleep chart that looks exact and is not, so the app withholds it when your birth time is uncertain, as it does for Variable.

Types in sleep#

Type in the DreamRave follows the same rules as in the waking chart, applied to the five centers that remain. The only motors left are the Sacral and the Root, so every type is still possible, but their shares change completely. Jovian Archive notes that "many people often see a Type change between their waking and sleeping designs", and gives this distribution:

Type in the DreamRave Share of people
Reflector 67.56%
Generator 16.64%
Projector 14.93%
Manifesting Generator 0.72%
Manifestor 0.16%

Our own calculation on 3,000 random births gives much the same picture: 68.5% Reflector, 17.4% Generator and 14.2% Projector. Most people, in other words, sleep with no defined center at all.

What the tradition says to do#

Jovian Archive describes the DreamRave as "the thematics of the conditioning you receive from the neutrino program while you sleep", and Ra did not treat that conditioning as harmless: "What you get in the dream can poison your waking consciousness." The practical advice that follows is short.

  • Sleep in your own aura, and go to sleep correctly for your type. "Going to sleep correctly for your Type and sleeping in your own aura prepares you to enter into the dream state." The article gives no bedtime rules beyond that; your waking type's strategy is the guide.
  • Know your weak points, and live your Strategy and Authority. "A weak point shows where you are vulnerable, susceptible to certain influences that are not you." The answer Jovian Archive gives is the one the whole system gives: "Strategy and Authority are your protection from the weak point." Strategy and Authority come first here too.

What this page does not cover#

The DreamRave has a layer of meaning for each of the 15 gates: keynotes for the dream state grouped into the Light Field, the Demon Realm and the Earth Plane, and the weak points that follow from your own sleep chart. That material is Jovian Archive's paid DreamRave work, the DreamScape and the course Understanding the Dreamer's Design, and we do not reproduce or guess at it. This page gives no per-gate dream meanings, and the app does not compute or name weak points.

Your sleep chart in the app#

Your own DreamRave is part of Pro. On gethumandesign.com it sits on the Advanced tab of a person's chart as a DreamRave card, which opens the full sleep bodygraph: the five centers, the 15 gates with the Personality and Design activations that fall in them, the defined channels with their fields, and the sleeping type. The assistant can show the same card in chat. Both need a known birth time and are hidden when it is uncertain.

Read it after your waking chart, not instead of it. Your waking type, strategy and authority are how the design is meant to be lived, and the sleep chart adds a picture of the night, not a new set of rules.
